For everyone in Boise who is interested in Digital Marketing, on January 11th and 12th we hosted the first ever Standup Startup at Trailhead, featuring a special presentation "Beyond Digital Marketing". Following the event, we held a free workshop to help business owners.
We brought in digital marketing leader, John Whiting, Founder & CEO of Digital Kryptonite and asked attendees to submit their top questions. From there, we measured, analyzed, and prioritized answers. John spent 90 minutes covering the information the audience wanted to know most.
You can read more on the background about theBeyond Digital Marketing event here. And, if you are just interested in the free guide, you can skip forward to downloading the free Digital Marketing Quick Reference Guide here.
Overall, around 100 people attended the talk and 50 participated in the workshop. You can see the highly acclaimed intro here:
The event was a success! We received raving reviews of both the talk and the workshop in how it delivered value and perspective.
Here are some comments from folks that attended:
Thank you to Nerdy Dragon for bringing John Whiting here. Some people talk a good game about marketing, but they just can’t get the point across. John Whiting walks the walk. I learned far more than I expected, and I expected a lot. - Norris
By the end of the 3 hour workshop today I feel like I can go out, I have a much better plan of how to market and how to target my business - and I’m much more excited to move forward. - Jonathan
Thank you so much for bringing John into town. You all put on an excellent event. Going through such a fast, focused process helped me clarify several things I've been working on in my second business. - Cristen
John pushed us forward and to think differently. - Pedro
I enjoyed the collaboration time. We were afforded some time to brainstorm and really discuss the problems we were having in our business. - Jen
Put everything into perspective for me. I was able to go through the entire process and find holes in my ideas. I found it incredibly valuable, I think everybody would find it valuable.
It encouraged people to really think about their customers and what’s best for them. It’s exciting to be around people who are enthusiastic about their work, I really enjoyed the energy.
John took questions from people before the event, as to gear the content of his presentation to the specific questions people had who were attending. What a great idea - talk about things people are interested in hearing :)

- Best use of marketing spend with limited resources?

- How do we measure success?
- How to acquire new customers?

Stay tuned for some video clips of the specific answers, we are working to edit those down and will be sharing further in the days ahead.
Overall, people that attended agreed that the event delivered value! I know I picked up at least one thing:
If you agree with me, then...
